ORAL PRESENTATION ABOUT POLAR BEARS



HABITAT
The polar bear is a mammal that lives in the polar regions of the world. We found them in the Wrangel island, in the north-west of Alaska, in Greenland, in the arctic archipelago of Canada and in the north of Siberia.


MORPHOLOGY

Is the biggest land carnivorous. An adult male measured 2'5 m long and weighs between 400-600g. The hair of the polar bear is long, thick and white, and under his thick hair there is a layer of fat from 10-15cm.


DIET

It eats all the arctic animals except foxes and wolves, but his favourite food are baby seals and reindeers.
It eats approcimately 30 kg of food a day.


REPRODUCTION

Mating is done in September and a polar bear have only two months of gestation.
The youngs live with their mother until 2 years old, and a polar bear can live until 30 years old.


RISK

The climate impact affect his habitat so the polar bear is in a danger of extinction.
